A funeral service was held Tuesday at Allen Mortuary for Mary Lillian Jones Beers, 63, of Kansas City, Kansas. The former Ceres resident died Jan. 31, 2010, at KU Medical Center in Kansas.
Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Allen Mortuary.
Mary moved to California in 1971 and owned Mary Beers Barber Shop in Turlock for 15 years. She belonged to the Ceres Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Beers recently moved back to Kansas to spend time with her parents.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lisa McIntyre of Ceres, two sisters, Toni Honeycutt and Ora Lee Phelan, both of Kansas; two brothers, John Beers of Texas, and Aubrey Jones of Kansas; her parents, Aubrey and Dolly Jones of Kansas; and three grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.
