A funeral mass was held Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Modesto for Norman Francis Boucher, 72, of Modesto. He died peacefully on Feb. 20, 2009 surrounded by his family.

Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of the McHenry Chapel ofFranklin & Downs

Born Nov. 10, 1936 in Athol, Mass., to Wilfred and Margaret Boucher. In 1958 he married Patricia Rae Conway and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Norm served in the U.S. Marine Corps and later graduated from Bentley College with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He worked for various firms in the field of finance. In 1978 Norm's career brought the family from South Weymouth, Mass. to Modesto where he served as the chief financial officer for DiMare California in Newman and later for Hughson Nut Company. Mr. Boucher was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 10644 in Modesto where he was a Past Grand Knight and charter member.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia Boucher; his children, Karen Turner of Red Bluff, Susan Kindelt of Pollock Pines, Gail Banning, Janice Keating, and Timothy Boucher, all of Modesto; his sister, Beverly Hall of Bridgewater, Mass.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James.
