A funeral was held Thursday at St. George Holy Apostolic Church of the East in Ceres for Sam Aram Sarkissian, 64, of Modesto. He died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at his home.
Burial was at Turlock Memorial Park under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel.
Born Sept. 8, 1940, Mr. Sarkissian was a native of Baghdad, Iraq, and lived in Modesto for 15 years. He was a bank teller for 15 years. Mr. Sarkissian was a member of St. George Holy Apostolic Catholic Assyrian Church of the East, Ceres.
He leaves behind his wife, Clara Sarkissian of Modesto; two children, Shant Sarkissian and Sonya Sarkissian, both of Modesto; his mother, Christina Sarkissian of Lebanon; and his brother, Aramis Sarkissian of La Crescenta.
