A graveside service was held on Friday at Lakewood Memorial Park for Shirley Jean Hampton, 78, of Hughson. She died Sept. 12, 200 9after battling Alzheimer's Disease.

Born March 7, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio, Shirley lived in Hughson for 50 years. Mrs. Hampton enjoyed having family and friends over for coffee and a chat. For 15 years, Shirley was an in-home heath caregiver for the elderly. Shirley met her husband of 60 years, Gerald Hampton in 1949.

She also leaves behind four children, Mike Hampton, stepdaughter Kathy, Rick Hampton, Audrey, and Elizabeth; six brothers; and 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.

Remembrances may be sent to the Alzheimer's Aid Society; or to The Cohen Hospice House, 7700 Fox Rd., Hughson, CA 95326.
