A funeral service was held Thursday at Lakewood Funeral Home for Velma B. Sales Bowling, 77, of Modesto. She died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005at Memorial Medical Center.
Burial was at Lakewood Memorial Park.
Born Jan. 16, 1928, Mrs. Bowling was a native of Hevener, Okla., and lived in Modesto for 52 years. She was a homemaker who attended First Southern Baptist Church in Ceres. Mrs. Bowling was a member of VFW Post 5059 Auxiliary and Valley Christian Center.
She leaves behind her first husband, Lloyd Brantley of Patterson; three children, David Brantley of Patterson, Galen Brantley of Soldotna, Alaska, and Earlene Saunders of Modesto; and 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Russell Bowling.
