A funeral service was held Tuesday at Lakewood Funeral Home Heritage Chapel for Vernie Marie Lankford, 94, of Ceres. She died peacefully on Aug. 17, 2010.
Born Feb. 5, 1916 in Waynesboro, Tenn., Mrs. Lankford was a resident of Ceres for over the past 50 years. She belonged to the Church of Christ.
