A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Lakewood Memorial Park for Vivian Norton Davis, 84, of Modesto. She died Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at Hale Aloha Convalescent Hospital in Ceres.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Born March 22, 1920, Mrs. Davis was a native of Rush Springs, Okla., and had lived in Modesto since 1940. Mrs. Davis was a cannery worker for 20 years for General Foods. She was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Ceres. Mrs. Davis enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting.

She leaves behind four children, Carl E. Davis and Shirley Ann Costa, both of Turlock, Loreda Amant of Weaver, Ala., and James E. Davis of La Grange; four brothers, Ocie Norton of Lodi, Orville Norton of Stockton, Curtis Norton of Joplin, Mo., and Doyle Norton of Tularosa, N.M.; four sisters, Vida Waits of Modesto; Opal Hawkins of Porterville, and Loretta McCall and Doris Gardner, both of Stockton; and 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jadie "Jack" Davis; and two brothers and two sisters.
