A Mass was held Tuesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Ceres for Yolanda Dimas Bernal, 45, of Empire. The former Ceres resident died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the University of California at Davis Medical Center, Sacramento.

Lakewood Funeral Home was in charge of burial at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Born March 23, 1960, Mrs. Bernal was a native of Carmago, Mexico, and lived in Empire for two years and previously lived in Ceres for 17 years. She was a cannery worker who enjoyed music, dancing, and collecting elephants and sunflowers.

Mrs. Bernal leaves behind her husband, Jose Luis Bernal Sr. of Empire; six children, Jose Luis Bernal Jr. of Modesto, and Josue Bernal, Felipe Bernal, Pablo Bernal, Mireya Bernal and Martina Bernal, all of Empire; her parents, Margarita Barrientos of Ceres and Leonel Dimas of Empire; twobrothers, Leonel Dimas Jr. and Jose Barrientos, both of Modesto; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
