Lawmaker wants illegal aliens to have state jobs
Opinion

There is a never ending parade of corrupted new laws proposed by Democrats in Sacramento that make my blood boil.

Here’s a new one. State Assemblyman David Alvarez, D-Chula Vista, has introduced AB 2586 which would mandate that the University of California – a state agency – allow illegal immigrants to apply for jobs and be hired despite violating federal law.

He calls his bill “Opportunity for All Act” which really is the “Hiring Illegal Aliens and Flipping the Bird to Federal Laws Act.”

The lawyers working for the U.C. Board of Regents studied this and determined that the hiring of illegals is prohibited by law and that it puts illegals at risk of federal prosecution. Thus, they oppose the bill because it could potentially cause the feds to withhold billions in tax dollars. (But not likely under Joe Biden).

If I was of the five members of the Planning Commission, I’d be fuming.

All five members of that appointed body were in agreement in April that special events at El Rematito Flea Market should end at 10 p.m.

The council overrode that decision. Why should the city have a commission at all?

We heard complaints last year about amplified music from that venue being heard all the way on the east side of Ceres. Look for more of the same.

It’s crazy to believe how many intoxicated drivers out there.

During the Memorial Day weekend the California Highway Patrol made over 1,100 DUI arrests and another 250 arrests for other things.

The CHP also wrote nearly 32,000 traffic citations, including over 19,000 for excessive speed. Over 800 citations were issued for drivers exceeding 100 mph!

Also hard to believe is that CHP cited 1,850 for seat belt violations.

Over 2,000 distracted driving citations issued.

And you wonder why insurance rates are so high.

Ah oh, actor Richard Dreyfuss committed the unpardonable sin in the bible of the Left by commenting against the sexually confused during his appearance at a screening of “Jaws” two Saturdays ago at the 850-seat Cabot Theater in Beverly, Mass.

Apparently the hoity toity leftists in the crowd were offended and some ”really distraught” said a theater spokesman. Distraught? Really?

He estimated that 125 walked out, leaving the theater to grovel to the offended patrons. In the same leftist slanted article I read «several patrons» walked out. Which is it? 125 or three?

Dreyfus is a conservative and therefore a target of the media who is eager to paint him as an old out-of-touch intolerant white man. I think people pick and choose what they tolerate but keep in mind that people feel that Jesus was pretty intolerant when He preached that He was the ONLY way to heaven.

Since the article writer Nardine Saad of the LA Times couldn’t get her numbers right, I question if she got other pertinent facts right when she stated about Dreyfus “allegedly ranting about women, LGBTQ+ individuals and the #MeToo movement.”

The theater sent out a letter of apology, stating: “We regret that an event that was meant to be a conversation to celebrate an iconic movie instead became a platform for political views. We take full responsibility for the oversight in not anticipating the direction of the conversation and for the discomfort it caused to many patrons.”

Spare me the hyperbole. How many times have Americans been forced to endure the rants against Trump and conservatives at every Academy Awards show? How many times have we heard Robert DeNiro go off on Trump like a demented psycho?

At least Ben Dreyfus, the actor’s son stated: “My dad and I disagree about lots of stuff. But it’s a free country. People are allowed to have different opinions about stuff.”

The problem is that when conservatives voice their opinions, they are vilified for it.

Writer Saad admits that Dreyfus’ “full remarks has yet to emerge” yet goes on to report what other periodicals reported, that he delivered “a hate-filled speech that disparaged women in film, the #MeToo movement and LGBTQ rights.” He also ridiculed trans people and their parents. Saad pronounced his remarks on transgender as “bigoted opinion.”

I don’t consider calling out truth of biology to be a “bigoted opinion.”

I think Mr. Dreyfus deserves an award. He’s brave to speak against this insane society which believes people should lop off genitals because they think they were born in the wrong body when they are really dealing with mental and emotional stress and deny basic biology.

Keep in mind that if you don’t agree with the Woke opinion that gender is as fluid as hair color, they will shut you down, shame you, and try to destroy you. It not only signals their intolerance but their insecurity about their beliefs that fly in the face of traditional view humanity has lived with for eons. Last time I went to an airport I only saw restrooms for two genders, not 40 or so.

I could care less that some people booed Dreyfus after he said, “It’s not OK because when the kid’s 15, she’s going to say, ‘I’m an octopus.’” I agree. Saying a boy is a woman is about as ridiculous and defying reality as the 80-year-old is saying he’s a teenager. He has a point. Where does the “I identify as a whatever” end and at what point do the shrinks need to be called in?

Good for Richard Dreyfus for saying in May that the Academy Awards’ efforts to foster diversity made him want to vomit. I believe he speaks for the vast majority of Americans who have not swallowed the Woke poison pill.

There is a huge difference in being civil with each person we encounter daily and being forced to accept men competing on women’s teams just because they say they identify as a woman.

Dreyfus also lamented the state of civics education in the United States, urging audience members to “make sure your kids are not the last generation of Americans. And you know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Yes, Mr. Dreyfus, I know exactly what you’re talking about.

A recent survey indicates that only 40% of American high schoolers could pick one of the rights listed in the Bill of Rights in a multiple-choice question.

Well, it’s so-called Pride Month.

As the confetti rains down on my Google page, I am not one who plans to celebrate. To me, June is a month for grads, dads and the start of summer vacations – not celebrating three percent of the population’s whims and sexual desires.

According to Wikipedia, LGBT Pride Month, often called Pride Month, is a month, typically June, dedicated to celebration and commemoration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride. Pride Month began after the Stonewall riots, a series of gay liberation protests in 1969.

A lot of us are not onboard. I’m with Canadian psychologist and author Dr. Jordan Peterson who notes that “pride” is not a good thing – it’s one of the cardinal sins – because in essence, pride is a stubborn refusal to change when evidence of error is accruing.

It does seem odd to me that people stake their entire identity as narrow as sexual desire, whereas I would identify as a man, a Christian and an American. Peterson believes those waving the Pride flag “aren’t identities at all – they’re pronouncements of subjective to instinctual whim.”

Initially a gay and lesbian effort, the LGBTQ+ community has widened and embraced just about every lifestyle (other than straight) to the point that it has broken down the fences so that young people are being preyed upon. We are talking here about young impressionable people who are confused about who they are and who become victims to butchers masquerading as surgeons. As Peterson points out, so many fences have been broken down that the “monsters are coming out to play,” particularly in the transgender affirming world. He also notes that the “pride” agenda has been pushed so hard that public support for gay marriage is dropping.

And according to Melissa Deckman, CEO of Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI), “The growing partisan divide on these issues show the effect of the continuous use of LGBTQ identity and LGBTQ rights as a wedge issue in our nation’s culture wars.”

“Keep pushing. Keep pushing. You’re going to lose everything you’ve gained,” Peterson warns the LGBTQ+ group.

Unfortunately corporate America and the education system have foolishly promoted this agenda and it turns off many who still hold fast to the basic truths that fences are good, men are men and women are women and men and women were designed to fit one another and that marriage was designed for men and women. Children were meant to be raised by a loving mother and a loving father as the ideal condition for success. And that people are supposed to honor the Creator by living by his guide for living.
