The Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare, is hurting Americans. Insurance policies have already gone up and are expected to go up more. Many that had health insurance have not only lost it; but also had their full-time job reduced to part-time status since businesses can now avoid additional costs if the employee works 29 hours per week. As a result, many are forced to work two part-time jobs in order to pay expenses, while losing their health care coverage.
Employers can also avoid providing health insurance by paying the government penalty of $2,000 per employee, per year, as long as the employer employs under 50 workers. As a result, companies are not hiring new employees but seeking temporary or contract workers. Employers can also avoid costs by hiring employees without benefits during their 90 day probation period and let them go on day 89.
These businesses have thrived on Obamacare; but it is Americans who have suffered in an unstable economy with less pay due to reduced hours and a loss of their medical insurance. And, if they don't have medical coverage, which is now a tax, they will be required to pay up to a $2,000 fine to the IRS.
Through Obamacare, many Americans have lost their medical plans, doctor, wages, and face tax penalties while those that have retained their jobs and medical plans are paying higher premiums. Americans are also about to see a reduction in their medical services. Many doctors have retired or left the profession according to numerous reports with 83% of doctors considering quitting due to Obamacare according to a July 2012 article in Human Events. As a result of Obamacare, most Americans will be unable to get proper medical services while other Americans will not be able to afford the medical insurance.
If Obamacare were so good, why did Obama exempt himself, Congress, and his donors from the same policy that will hurt most of American?
