Athletic Boosters say thanks to supporters

Editor, Ceres Courier,

As president of the Ceres High School Athletic Boosters, I would like to thank the community for the outpouring of support at our annual dinner dance held this weekend.

I would like to pay particular attention to the generous sponsorship of Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel, Embroidery Plus and Franklin & Downs. In addition, I would like to thank each of our individual sponsors, attendees and volunteers for their generosity to ensure that our event was a huge success.

The CHS Athletic Boosters is there to promote and assist our student athletes and the athletic programs in their pursuit of continued success. Although many people only know about our outstanding linguica sandwiches served at football games and the Ceres Street Faire, we work year round to provide for each of the athletic programs as well as provide scholarships each year to student athletes. We were fortunate to secure funding to purchase a much needed shot clock for the water polo and swim programs. This was done in conjunction with the Arrowhead Club and we are deeply appreciative.

In addition to the clock, the Boosters continue to help our athletic department attempt to meet the growing demands of our athletes. We are proud to see our CHS athletic program add the following items to better assist our athletes - new water polo goals, windscreens for softball, soccer goals, chairs for the football team room, windscreen for both aquatics and baseball, dugout covers for the JV baseball/softball and varsity softball, infield replacement for baseball, green fees for golf, and the outfield fence for JV softball.

The Boosters has a long standing tradition of dedicated parents, coaches and volunteers. I am proud to support this organization just as my parents did before me. Go Dogs!

Randy Moore,
President,
Ceres High School Athletic Boosters
