Police chief appreciative of support after cop shootings
a-letter-envelope-5

Editor, Ceres Courier,

In light of the tragedy in Dallas, Texas last week, our Police Department has received an outpouring of food, letters and other acts of kindness from the citizens of Ceres. I want to take the opportunity to thank those that support our community, specifically our law enforcement officers. Some residents on Darrah Street even had a barbeque over the weekend, which turned out to be a real treat for the patrol officers who attended.

The men and women of the Ceres Police Department are committed to the safety of all citizens in this community. We will remain a proactive police department that works hard to maintain positive relationships with everyone, while striving to keep this city safe.

We mourn over the events in Dallas and our thoughts and prayers go out to those fallen officers and those injured during this tragic event.

Thanks again for your support.

Brent Smith,
Chief of Police,
Ceres Police Department
