Central Valley High School has figuratively turned on the tap for the theme of this week's Winterfest Homecoming Week, "CVH2O."

Candidates for all four classes were announced on Friday after all candidates had been "Hawk-napped" during fourth period.

On Monday, seniors decorated the entrances to the B Building. The spirit day theme was "Glacier" with the dress for the day being ski/snowboard gear, scarves, mittens, heavy jackets, and boots.

Tuesday's theme was "Smart Water" with juniors decorating entrances. Some students came dressed as nerds complete with nerdy glasses, pocket protectors, highwater pants, and mismatched clothing.

Today Central Valley students will be voting for their choices of royalty candidates, while sophomores decorate B Building entrances. Since the theme is "Tap Out Water," students are encouraged to wear boxing and wrestling Tap Out gear (Tap Out is an affiliate with the Ultimate Fighting). Between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. students will be building floats for Friday's Homecoming Parade.

Tomorrow is "Crystal Geyser" theme day, with freshmen getting their chance to decorate. Students are encourage to show up for school with lots of bling (jewelry). They'll also complete their float building 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The week culminates with lots of activity on Friday, which is green and maroon Spirit Day. Results of the royalty elections will be announced. Male winners will be coronated at the 2:02 p.m. rally. The ladies will be crowned at halftime of the varsity boys basketball game versus Sonora. The float parade will be held between JV and varsity games.
