San Jacinto and Hughson paid a visit to Ceres High for a summer passing league competition on June 29.

Bulldog senior receiver/defensive back Caden Johnson caught three touchdown passes and tallied one interception.

"Everything is a competition to me," said Johnson, who missed seven of 10 games with a broken left arm during the 2011 regular season. "I don't care if there's pads or not."

Ceres High quarterback Blake Hurst totaled six touchdowns with just one interception on the day. Dylan Canatsy and Damien Underwood each had one TD reception. Underwood and Brad Bussard both picked off one pass. Bussard made a diving catch in the end zone against Hughson.

"We held our own today," Johnson said. "We all did our part."

Ceres High will be among the seven teams participating in the Downey Contact Camp this week (July 9-12) in Modesto. Each session runs 4-8 p.m.

"That should be exciting," Bulldog quarterback Blake Hurst said
