Central Valley High School's football program cruised to a 48-0 victory over Orestimba in a seven-on-seven passing tilt on Wednesday in Ceres.

"We executed everything coach asked us to do," Hawks quarterback Trevor Mew said.

Mew completed 28 of 36 passes with eight touchdowns, including four to DeAngelo Williams, two to Rick Rogers, and one to Vince Lopez and Nikco Miller.

Williams had 10 catches.

Rogers, Lopez and Miller grabbed nine, four and two passes, respectively.

Timmy Henley, Christopher Beleele and Ethan Silber all had one reception.

"It's nice having guys like that around you," said Mew, who opened the contest with eight straight completions and three TD strikes. "They want to win."

Central Valley tallied seven interceptions on defense. Josh Worstell and Nick Mead had two picks each. Williams, Victor Tubera, Jonovan Solorio and Sonny Purewal all had one.

"It gives us confidence for the upcoming season," Worstell said.

Josh will provide depth in the secondary this fall. Worstell had to sit out his junior season due to CIF transfer rules.

"They wouldn't let me play because I went to Hilmar the last half of my sophomore year," Josh said. "It's good to be back. I'll play wherever the coaches want me to play."

Worstell spent his freshman year at Central Valley in 2005. He helped propel the JV Hawks to an independent league championship.
