Dolphins show improvement

The Ceres Dolphins had 16 first-place finishes, 15 seconds, 11 thirds and fourths, seven fifths and 12 sixths during their Mid Valley Youth Swim League losses to the Ripon Sea Lions and host Tracy Tritons on Saturday.

Ceres finished with a team score of 307.

Ripon and Tracy earned 851 and 737 points, respectively.

"Unfortunately for us, we drew the two best teams in the league," head coach Tracy Bull said. "Ripon is the gold standard."

The Dolphins were led by Ryan Calou, Tyler Padilla, Cierra Alvear, Cassandra Guevara, Stefan Perry, Haley Fisicaro, Austin Stiles, Cheyenne Brazil, Kimo Guevara, Natalie Zavala, Jadyn Shinn, Jordan Shinn and Makayla Estermann.

"We competed very well," Bull said. "Half of our kids set personal records."

Individual

17-18 boys

Ryan Calou took first in the 100 IM, 100 fly and 50 free.

15-16 boys

Tyler Padilla took first in the 100 IM, 100 fly and 100 breast.

Christian Moore took first in the 100 back, second in the 100 IM and third in the 50 free.

Stephen Jones took second in the 50 free, and third in the 100 free and 100 breast.

Cody Fliflet took third in the 100 IM, and fourth in the 100 free and 50 free.

Keaton Machado took fourth in the 100 breast, and fifth in the 100 free and 50 free.

15-16 girls

Cierra Alvear took first in the 50 breast and second in the 100 IM.

Cassandra Guevara took first in the 50 free and second in the 100 free.

Montana Bull took second in the 100 IM and 50 back, and third in the 50 breast.

Tori Gunzenhauser took fourth in the 100 free, 50 free and 50 breast.

Megan Valenzuela took sixth in the 100 free.

13-14 boys

Stefan Perry took third in the 50 back and sixth in the 100 IM.

Zachary Jones took fifth in the 100 free.

Sammy Ochoa took sixth in the 100 free and 50 breast.

Haley Fisicaro took first in the 50 fly,

Megan Braverman took third in the 50 fly and sixth in the 100 IM.

Savanna Alvear took fourth in the 100 free and sixth in the 50 back.

Kaylee Mattice took sixth in the 100 free.

Austin Stiles took fourth in the 50 back.

Cheyenne Brazil took third in the 50 breast and fourth in the 100 IM.

Kimo Guevara took second in the 100 free and 50 free, and third in the 50 breast.

Natalie Zavala took third in the 100 free.
