Four CHS players score in double figures against CV

Ceres High School's junior-varsity boys basketball team made quick work of Central Valley last week.

The Bulldogs outscored the Hawks 25-5 in the first quarter and won the crosstown showdown 67-37 on Wednesday at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.

"We came into this game with a lot of confidence," Ceres High point guard Brad Bussard said.

Bussard tallied 21 points while leading a balanced scoring attack.

Juan Anderson added 11 points.

Joshneil Sandhu and former Hawk Ramon Coral finished with 10 points apiece.

Nick Burt, Caleb McDade and Brent Bussard collected six, five and three points, respectively.

Will Hilgen, who earned a promotion from the Bulldogs' freshman team earlier in the week, had one point.

Inayat Sahota scored a team-high 12 points for Central Valley.

Julio Pena and Josh Villegas totaled eight and seven points, respectively.

Robert Preciado and Alexis Villa both contributed three points.

Joseph Montalvo and Nimrat Chahal each had two points.

The Hawks led 41-25 at halftime.

Central Valley outscored Ceres High 20-14 during the final 16 minutes of the game.

"We knew what we had to do and perfected it," Brad said. "Our defense was killer."

Ceres High thoroughly entertained its home fans.

"They were cheering us on," Brad said. "They were pumped up just as much as us."
