Ceres High School's varsity girls tennis team has reeled off two straight wins since losing 7-2 to crosstown-rival Central Valley on Sept. 22.

"They seem to be putting things together now," Bulldogs head coach Bryan Harden said. "I'm hoping they keep this effort up and continue to play this brand of smart tennis."

Ceres High improved to 4-3 in the Western Athletic Conference standings after topping host Livingston 6-3 on Thursday.

The Bulldogs swept all three doubles matches.

Aleena Ahmed and Azia Brewster beat Avneet Uppai and Amalia Barragan 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 10-5 in No. 1 doubles play.

Sabrina Yang and Shania Evans beat Gabby Ramirez and Bernice Hidalgo 6-0, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles play.

Bella Rosas and Sarah Cuevas beat Valeria Lopez and Natalia Valencia 6-0, 6-2 in No. 3 doubles play.

The Bulldogs took three of six singles matches from the Wolves.

Stephanie Garcia beat Elisa Armenta 6-3, 6-2 in No. 3 singles play.

Chelsea Heras beat Chris Gallardo 6-1, 2-6, 6-2, in No. 4 singles play.

Alicia Villegas beat Andriena Mendoza 6-3, 6-3 in No. 6 singles play.

Dominique Koeurn lost 6-2, 6-0 to Taronpreet Kaur in No. 1 singles play.

Andria Esho lost 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to Jasdeep Bassi in No. 2 singles play.

Jalani Blankenship lost 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-4 to Gurminder Kaur in No. 5 singles play.

Ceres High defeated Pacheco 7-2 on Sept. 29 in Lost Banos.

Ahmed and Brewster beat Esmeralda Ramirez and Michele Dunlap 6-2, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles play.

Yang and Jones beat Selena Sabinas and Maite Saldivas 6-2, 6-2 in No. 2 doubles play.

Rosas and Cuevas beat Marilyn Sanchez and Daniela Mendoza 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 doubles play.

Esho beat Aimee Wheeler 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 in No. 2 singles play.

Heras beat Kayla Ayala 6-4, 6-4 in No. 4 singles play.

Blankenship beat Chelsea Cano 6-4, 6-4 in No. 5 singles play.

Villegas beat Frances Jacobo 6-2, 6-3 in No. 6 singles play.

Koeurn lost 6-2, 6-0 to Miranda Amey in No. 1 singles play.

Garcia lost 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 to Mariah Moreno in No. 3 singles play.

"The girls played some good tennis today," Harden said while talking about his team's overall performance. "They really seem to be improving each match they play. But we have so much more we can do."
