Ceres High's and Livingston's unbeaten varsity boys and girls track and field teams battled last week in Ceres.

The Bulldogs dropped to 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference boys dual-meet standings after losing 82-54 to the Wolves on Wednesday.

Ceres High's Joseph Gutierrez finished first in the 1,600 and 3,200 against Livingston.

Kendrick Perata finished first in the 800.

Daniel Yepez finished first in the triple jump and 300 hurdles, and third in the 110 hurdles.

Jorge Tiscareno finished second in the pole vault.

Luis Yepez finished second in the triple jump.

Andrew Gibson finished second in the 110 hurdles.

Bryan Erenas finished second in the 400.

Justin Barnes finished third in the 3,200.

Javey Gomez finished third in the high jump.

Aaron Alarcon finished third in the 300 hurdles.

Gonzalo Rivera finished third in the 800.

Zach Baker finished third in the 200.

Ceres High's girls also suffered their first loss.

The Wolves cruised to a 91-40 victory.

Hawks split with Panthers
Central Valley's varsity track and field program secured a split while competing at Pacheco last week.

Central Valley's boys team improved to 1-2 in the Western Athletic Conference dual-meet standings after posting a 72-58 win over the Panthers on Wednesday.

The Hawks moved into a two-way tie for third place with Los Banos.

The last-place Panthers dropped to 0-3.

"It feels good to finally win," said Central Valley standout Andres Rojo, who swept the 400 and 200. "It gives us a little momentum."

Chase Bogart placed first in the 1,600 and 800.

Central Valley's 4x400 relay team of Rojo, Chase Bogart, Patric Senesom and Sebastian Pena placed first.

Christian Balderas placed first in the 3,200 and second in the 1,600.

Sergio Garcia placed first in the pole vault and second in the long jump.

Pena placed first in the 100 and third in the 200.

Uriel Barajas placed first in the shot put and third in the discus.

Benjamin Barajas placed first in the discus and third in the shot put.

Senesom placed second in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and long jump.

Enrique Martinez placed second in the 3,200.

Fabio Gonzalez placed second in the 800 and third in the 3,200.

Alejandro Orozco placed third in the 1,600 and 800.

Ivan Martinez placed third in the triple jump.

Central Valley's girls team remained in last place in the WAC following Wednesday's 81-41 loss to Pacheco.

The Hawks dropped to 0-3.

The Panthers (1-2) moved into a two-way tie for third place with the Los Banos Tigers.

Central Valley's Chetna Kumar placed first in the long jump and 200, and second in the 100 versus Pacheco.

Younger sister Anusha Kumar placed first in the 100 hurdles, and third in the 100 and high jump.
