Ceres High girls team posts 6-0 record during WAC dual campaign

The members of Ceres High's and Central Valley's frosh-soph boys and girls track and field teams excelled while competing at the Western Athletic Conference Championships on May 12 in Merced.

Kyana Carrillo, Camryn Elness, Shania Evans, Clarissa Ruiz and Janelle Mande led Ceres High's girls team.

Carrillo finished first in the 100 (13.81) and second in the 200 (29.37).

Elness finished first in the shot put (28-3) and third in the discus (73-6).

Evans finished first in the triple jump (30-61/2), third in the long jump (12-5) and sixth in the 100 (14.60).

Ruiz finished second in the 400 (1:11.90), 100 hurdles (20.73) and 300 hurdles (59.09), and fifth in the high jump (3-10).

Mande finished third in the 100 (14.48), seventh in the 200 (31.37).

Faith Gibson finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (21.72) and 300 hurdles (1:04.61).

Josephina Trevino finished fourth in the 3,200 (17:17.99) and sixth in the 1,600 (7:10.45).

Kyara Rodriguez finished fifth in the discus (59-3) and sixth in the shot put (24-5).

Mariah Scalise finished sixth in the 200 (30.48) and triple jump (25-41/2), and 10th in the long jump (11-1).

Letzi Esparza finished seventh in the high jump (3-6) and 12th in the 100 (15.12).

Elena Ochoa finished 11th in the shot put (19-2) and 14th in the discus (40-8).

Ceres High's 4x100 relay team of Evans, Mande, Scalise and Carrillo finished second (56.88).

Dana Miranda, Emily Velarde and Angela Garcia led Central Valley's girls team.

Miranda finished second in the 3,200 (14:53.68).

Velarde finished third in the 100 hurdles (21.43) and 300 hurdles (1:02.51), and ninth in the 100 (15.01) and 200 (32.09).

Garcia finished third in the 400 (1:13.04), 11th in the 200 (32.64) and 15th in the 100 (15.69).

Anmolpreet Sangha finished fourth in the discus (68-3) and 10th in the shot put (20-0).

Gabriela Solorio finished eighth in the shot put (22-3) and ninth in the discus (54-1).

Sunaina Dhillon finished fourth in the 400 (1:13.73), 13th in the 200 (33.24) and 16th in the 100 (16.26).

Cynthia Robles finished sixth in the 300 hurdles (1:11.34) and seventh in the 100 hurdles (22.82).

Andrew Gibson, Daniel Yepez, Jorge Tiscareno, Noah Holloway and Aaron Alarcon led Ceres High's boys team.
Gibson finished first in the 100 (11.99) and 110 hurdles (17.19).

Yepez finished first in the triple jump (36-11), second in the 110 hurdles (17.79) and 300 hurdles (45.39), and fourth in the long jump (15-10).

Tiscareno finished second in the pole vault (9-6) and third in the 110 hurdles (18.38).

Holloway finished second in the 1,600 (5:04.47) and fourth in the 800 (2:22.51).

Alarcon finished second in the triple jump (36-1), fifth in the 400 (1:01.97) and seventh in the 300 hurdles (49.84).

Angel Padilla finished fourth in the 400 (58.74), sixth in the 200 (25.85) and seventh in the 100 (12.74).

David Duarte finished fifth in the shot put (36-1) and 10th in the discus (72-7).

Kendrick Perata finished sixth in the triple jump (34-23/4), 10th in the long jump (15-2) and 12th in the 200 (27.44).

Zach Baker finished sixth in the high jump (5-2) and long jump (15-71/2), and 12th in the 100 (13.07).

Johnny Hutson finished sixth in the 800 (2:22.80) and 15th in the 1,600 (6:02.98).

Joshua Garcia finished eighth in the discus (77-3) and 13th in the shot put (30-6).

Daniel Hadwick finished ninth in the 400 (1:03.49) and 10th in the 200 (26.53).

Emilio Marquez finished 13th in the 1,600 (5:39.60) and 14th in the 800 (2:41.70).

Ceres High's 4x100 relay team of Tiscareno, Baker, Hutson and Gibson finished second (48.63).

Ceres High's 4x400 relay team of Gibson, Holloway, Alarcon and Hutson finished second (4:03.42).

Sergio Garcia, David Magallanes, Carlos Diaz and Alejandro Saucedo led Central Valley's boys team.

Garcia finished first in the pole vault (10-0) and second in the 200 (25.49).

Magallanes finished second in the 400 (58.04), and seventh in the 200 (25.90) and high jump (5-0).

Diaz finished seventh in the 110 hurdles (20.13), ninth in the 300 hurdles (53.89), and 14th in the 100 (13.35) and 200 (30.05).

Saucedo finished eighth in the 100 (12.74) and 200 (26.01).

Nasson Sanchez finished ninth in the 100 (12.82).

Jesus Garcia finished ninth in the discus (73-8) and 11th in the shot put (30-9).

Alfonso Hernandez finished ninth in the shot put (31-6) and 15th in the discus (50-9).

Angel Porras finished 10th in the shot put (31-5).

Michael Thompson finished 10th in the 300 hurdles (57.94) and 11th in the 110 hurdles (21.05).

Brian Winchester finished 11th in the 400 (1:10.84) and 16th in the 100 (15.17).

Sabino Urrutia finished 15th in the 800 (2:43.66) and 16th in the 1,600 (6:23.84).

Ceres High's girls team compiled a perfect 6-0 record on its way to a first-place finish during the WAC dual season.

Ceres High's boys team (5-1) took second.
