Ceres High’s girls tennis team broke into the Western Athletic Conference win column this past week.
The Bulldogs posted a 7-2 victory over the Pacheco Panthers on Thursday in Ceres.
“It’s nice for the girls’ confidence to get a win,” head coach Brandon Moring said.
Ceres High improved to 1-3 in the WAC standings.
“Effort has been good,” Moring said. “We got a young, inexperienced team that’s learning. I’m really not trying to put too much emphasis on winning and losing. It’s going to take time. The girls are up for the challenge.”
The Bulldogs won four of six singles and all three doubles matches versus the Panthers.
Gurmannet Bahia won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Payton Ogden won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.
Gurleen Kaur won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
Jelanie Esguerra won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
Valerie Raya lost 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
Victoria Ochoa lost 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Kensey Gallardo and Alexa Sandoval won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.
Jasmeenjot Kaur and Camila Orellana won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Isabella Gutierrez and Yasmin Pinedo, Ceres High’s No. 3 doubles team, won by forfeit.
Atwater 9, Central Valley 0
Central Valley’s girls tennis team lost 9-0 to host Atwater on Thursday.
The Hawks dropped to 0-4 in the Central California Conference standings.
The Falcons swept all six singles and three doubles matches.

Alika Victorino lost 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles.
Lesly Rivas lost 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
