Ceres High’s varsity girls tennis team shut out visiting Beyer 9-0 in Western Athletic Conference play last Wednesday.

The Bulldogs improved to 2-0 in the WAC.

The Patriots dropped to 0-2 in the league standings.

Ceres High swept all six singles and three doubles matches versus Beyer.

Shania Evans bested Giana Miller 6-4, 6-4 in No. 1 singles play.

Vivian Moreno bested Cynthia Madrigal 6-4, 6-0 in No. 2 singles play.

Camille Vega bested Sarah Diryawush 6-0, 6-2 in No. 3 singles play.

Tania Garfias bested Alexis Luna 6-3, 6-1 in No. 4 singles play.

Morgan Bejaran bested Tabby Brown 6-3, 6-1 in No. 5 singles play.

Gurmen Bahia bested Hailey Salha 6-0, 6-1 in No. 6 singles play.

Jillian Jimenez and Christel Ontiveros bested Bella Madero and Trinity Chukes 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 in No. 1 doubles play.

Jasmine Bahia and Monica Esparza bested Nadein Abusaud and Vanessa Rivera 6-1, 6-0 in No. 2 doubles play.

Elena Ochoa and Daniela Nunez bested Janessa Thomason and Gracie Maldonado Roberts 6-2, 6-7, 8-6 in No. 3 doubles play.

“The girls played tough,” Moring said while assessing his team’s overall performance. “We just got to keep getting better every day.”
