Central Valley's freshman boys basketball team eased to a 56-29 win against crosstown-rival Ceres High in Western Athletic Conference play on Jan. 24 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.

Angel Zamarripa had a game-high 15 points for the second-place Hawks (5-1).

Nathan Diaz and Jason Figueroa both scored 10 points.

Donavon Gaut, Samar Singh and Xavier Valencia tallied nine, eight and two points, respectively.

Amari Taylor and Jonathan Vierra contributed one point each.

Samuel Garcia had a team-high 12 points for the third-place Bulldogs (2-4).

Andrew Kommavong, Adrian Barajas and Inderraj Dhillon added 10, four and three points, respectively.

Ceres High never posed a threat as Central Valley exploded for 38 points in the first half.

Angel accounted for 12 of the Hawks' 26 points in the second quarter.
