Ceres High's varsity boys wrestling team won 12 of 14 individual matches en route to posting a 71-12 win over Pacheco Wednesday night in Los Banos.

"We put in a lot of time and effort," Bulldogs head coach Steve Festa said. "That translates to the results we get on the mat. We can still improve. It's back to work."

The Bulldogs reeled off a dozen straight victories versus the Panthers.

"Our guys responded after we lost the first match," Festa said.

Aiden Moore won by pin (0:31) at 172 pounds.

John Alba won by pin (1:11) at 154 pounds.

Michael Vargas won by pin (1:24) at 122 pounds.

Andrew Gibson won by pin (1:44) at 184 pounds.

Ethan Letras won by pin (2:12) at 162 pounds.

Brian Becerra won by pin (2:22) at 140 pounds.

Shanald Lal won by pin (5:10) at 115 pounds.

Jaden Cooper won by technical fall (18-3) at 147 pounds.

Jesus Salcedo (285s), Conner Johnson (220s), Diego Diaz (197s) and Frankie Mendez (108s) all won by forfeit.

"The kids had fun," Festa said.

Unbeaten Ceres High (4-0) will close out the WAC dual-meet season at home today.

The Bulldogs will host crosstown-rival Central Valley (3-1).

The Hawks will try to force a three-way tie atop the conference standings with Ceres High and Livingston.

"I've been coaching these guys for a long time," Festa said. "I enjoy every moment. I hope the kids get what they deserve. Central Valley isn't going to give it to us."
