Ceres High’s and Mountain House’s undefeated varsity girls tennis teams faced off in Western Athletic Conference play last week.

The Bulldogs fell to second-place in the WAC courtesy of their 7-2 loss to the host Mustangs on Wednesday.

“It’s always difficult when you play away,” coach Brandon Moring said. “It was a long drive. We left at 1:30 p.m. and didn’t play until 3:30 p.m. We play them again in another month.”

Ceres High dropped to 5-1 in the conference standings.

A newcomer to the WAC, Mountain House improved to 6-0.

The Bulldogs will need to win out to claim a share of the league title.
