The Ceres Pups Wrestling Club had successful outings at a pair of tournaments this past month.


Ceres brought home five individual medals from the 2018 California USA Wrestling Kids Greco-Roman State Championships.


The event was staged on April 21 at Fresno’s Selland Arena.


Tanner Brister finished first overall in the Bantam 68-78-pound Division.


Eli Swartz finished second in the Intermediate-120-plus Division.


Parker Borges finished second in the Intermediate-71 Division.


McCoy Adams finished fourth in the Novice-58 Division.


Twin brother Calen Adams finished fifth in the Novice-58 Division.


Jeremiah Young finished seventh in the Intermediate 77-Division.


Ceres hosted a San Joaquin Wrestling Association Tournament for freestyle and Greco-Roman grapplers on April 28 at Phil de la Porte Gymnasium.


Coach John Alba placed first in both styles while competing at 170 pounds.


Brister (85 pounds) and Logan Ives (50s) both placed first in freestyle.


Borges (71s) and Calen Adams (58s) placed second in freestyle and Greco.


Swartz (120s) and Edison Jimenez (138s) placed second in freestyle.


Eli got his first pin of the season.


Kyle Mitts (52s) placed second in Greco.


Trae Hammond (158s) and Brian Becerra (150s) placed second in freestyle and third in Greco.


McCoy Adams (58s) placed third in freestyle and Greco.


Adamir Jimenez (55s) placed third in Greco.
