For the second week in a row, the Ceres Dolphins recreational swim club competed shorthanded due to illness.

"We were down gigantic numbers," head coach Tracy Bull said. "It really effected our relays. I had 27 relay changes the morning of the meet. That's significant. Hopefully, we'll be healthy in two weeks for league championships."

The Dolphins lost to Manteca and Ripon on Saturday at Sierra High School.

Ceres posted 19 first-place finishes, 17 seconds, 20 thirds, 11 fourths, 14 fifths and 13 sixths during the MVSL meet.

Tyler Padilla (17-18 boys), Jadyn Shinn (7-8 girls), Jordan Shinn (6&under boys), Cierra Alvear (15-16 girls), Haley Fisicaro (13-14 girls) and Emma Silveira (6&under girls) were major contributors.

"We had a lot of good performances from the kids that swam," Bull said.
