•POLICE INVESTIGATING ATTEMPTED HOMICIDE: CERES - Detectives were sorting out the details Tuesday surrounding an early morning shotgun shooting of a man in the 3000 block of Park Royal.

At approximately 3 a.m. yesterday, Simon John, 26, of Ceres, was shot in the back of the legs with a 12-gauge shotgun by an assailant who has not been identified.

John was recovering at a local hospital.

"Everyone involved is uncooperative," said Lt. Brent Smith.

A search warrant was being executed on Tuesday.

• TEEN STABBED OUTSIDE MARKET: CERES - A 17-year-old boy was stabbed at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 as he left Industrial Market, located inside the county island at 2030 Industrial Way.

The Ceres teen said he was standing outside the store when two other males walked out and accused him of staring at them. One of the two suspects attacked the teen and a physical fight started. One of the suspects pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the teen twice in the back and fled the scene. He was rushed to Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock for treatment of non-life threatening wounds.

The stabber was described as a Latino male, about 25, with black hair, brown eyes, standing 6-foot-tall and weighing 200 pounds and also wearing an LA hat. Anyone with information on the suspects are encouraged to call Ceres detectives at 538-5727 or the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department at 525-7072.

• NARCOTICS ARREST: CERES - A 58-year-old man living just outside the Ceres city limits was arrested Wednesday, May 4 after a search of his home turned up narcotics which he was evidently selling.

Salvador Hernanez, 58, was arrested at 7:40 p.m. after Ceres officers Jose Beltran and James Riley were given permission to search his home in the 1000 block of Herndon Road. They located 28 grams of methamphetamine, 3 1/2 grams of cocaine base, scales, and a .357 revolver.

Hernandez was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a handgun during the commission of a felony and child endangerment.

• MAN KILLED BY TEEN: DENAIR - The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department arrested a 17-year-old juvenile Sunday after she assaulted family members, killing one of them.

Witnesses stated they heard people arguing for over an hour in the 3000 block of Salluce Drive before the Sheriff's Department was called. Deputies arrived on scene at approximately 8:15 p.m. and located 62-year-old Kenneth Wills and 61-year-old Susan Wills, both had been assaulted and were suffering from multiple injuries. Kenneth Wills died and Susan Wills was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she was listed in stable condition. The girl was being held on charges of homicide, attempted homicide, and assault with a deadly weapon.
