ESCALON - Acting on a tip, Ceres Police detectives, FBI, and State Parole agents served search warrants at homes in Escalon located at the 15000 block of Escalon Bellota Road and the 2400 block of Southfork Lane on Feb. 28.

Computers, accessories and other electronic devices were seized by police for forensic examination. Allen Kendrick, a 47-year-old registered sex offender on parole for child molestation and possession of child pornography, was arrested and booked at the Stanislaus County Jail for possession of child pornography and parole violation.

Upon preliminary examination of the computer equipment seized, Ceres High Tech investigators confirmed that files containing child pornography were found on the equipment.

This investigation is ongoing and being reviewed by the FBI.

The Ceres Police High Tech Taskforce is comprised of two full-time investigators who are trained in internet crimes against children investigations and computer forensic examinations. The unit is partially funded by Measure H, a half-cent sales tax measure specifically for improving public safety services to the community. The Ceres High Tech Taskforce works closely with neighboring agencies, as well as state and federal law enforcement organizations. They have been extremely successfully in combating the problem of child exploitation.
