Rufino Quan and Christina Sierra
Rufino Quan and Christina Sierra were arrested in Ceres on Monday after being stopped in their car and found with mounds of stolen IDs and checks with the intent to defraud others.

Two persons who appeared to be engaged in check and ID fraud were arrested in a traffic stop conducted in Ceres Monday morning.

Officer Eric Souza was making his patrols at 7:39 a.m. when he pulled over a Honda Civic near Mitchell and Service roads for vehicle code violations. Driver Rufino Quan, 39, of Stockton was found to be on probation and 33-year-old passenger Christina Sierra of Modesto, who initially provided a false name, had a felony warrant for identity theft charges. Officer Souza searched the vehicle and located stolen checks, stolen ID cards and stolen bank cards issued to different people. Some of the stolen checks had been made out to Quan and Sierra. Additionally, officers located a laptop computer and printer inside the vehicle.

Quan and Sierra were both arrested and charged with possession of access cards with the intent to defraud, possession of fictitious checks, possession of stolen property and possession of IDs with the intent to defraud. Sierra was also booked on the warrant and additional charges of identity theft and parole violation.
