A 38-year-old Modesto man was arrested for allegedly causing an injury crash on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 28.
At 4:13 p.m., Ceres Police Officer Salin Chrim-Marquez responded to the crash at Musick and Nadine avenues. Driver Pablo Castillo Mendoza, 38, of Modesto fled the scene but was later located. The officer noticed Mendoza appeared to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was given a series of field sobriety tests which confirmed her suspicions and when he provided a breath sample it detected that he over the legal limit for an adult to drive.
Mendoza was arrested on charges of DUI resulting in an injury and fleeing the scene of an injury traffic collision and was booked into the Public Safety Center.
