Through the collective efforts of volunteers, residents, and community partners, 11 bins of trash and debris were filled at Saturday’s free disposal event, resulting in approximately 33,000 pounds of trash and debris being removed from local neighborhoods.

The event was hosted at Central Valley High School parking lot by Stanislaus County Supervisor Channce Condit.

The cleanup effort is part of an ongoing initiative to combat illegal dumping, beautify neighborhoods, and strengthen community pride throughout District 5.

“Community pride is built through action, and today we saw the very best of Ceres on display,” said Supervisor Condit. “More than 33,000 pounds of trash and debris were removed from our neighborhoods because residents chose to spend their day serving others and improving the community we all share. These cleanups are about improving the quality of life in our community and that can only be accomplished when we work together.”

Supervisor Condit expressed his sincere appreciation to every volunteer and community member who participated in the cleanup effort.

“These events are about much more than collecting trash,” Condit added. “They are about bringing people together, restoring pride in our neighborhoods, and demonstrating what is possible when local residents, community organizations, and public officials work side by side toward a common goal. Every volunteer who participated should be proud of the difference they made today.”

“I want to especially thank Councilmembers Cerina Otero and Rosalinda Vierra for joining us and leading by example,” said Condit. “Their willingness to work alongside volunteers reflects a shared commitment to serving the people of Ceres and ensuring our neighborhoods remain places where families can live, work, and thrive.”

The District 5 Community Cleanup Program has become one of the county’s most successful neighborhood beautification initiatives, removing hundreds of tons of waste while fostering civic engagement and community pride across Stanislaus County.
