The Rotary Club of Ceres resumed its “Student of the Month” program since March 2020 with Central Valley High School senior Heriberto Paz Benitez to be honored.

Eddie was selected for many reasons, including his positivity on campus in everything he does. A dedicated student athlete who excels on the field and in the classroom, Eddie demonstrates commitment with the utmost perseverance in all he encounters. Even when Eddie had a knee injury and was having to navigate a large campus on crutches, he greeted staff and students with a smile each day. His coaches and teachers share what a wonderful addition he is in his classes and on his team and that he is always looking for opportunities to improve and takes constructive criticism with an open-minded attitude. He serves as a role model to other students, and his friendly demeanor allows him to be a leader inside the classroom and on the field.

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Rotary Club of Ceres is a proud partner of the Ceres Community and meets at noon on Friday at the Ceres Community Center, 2701 Fourth Street.
