Four on Ceres council endorse Denham

Election momentum continues to favor incumbent Congressman Jeff Denham as he announces new local endorsements almost daily in his campaign for re-election.

On Aug. 17 Denham's staff announced the support of Ceres Mayor Chris Viera and Councilmembers Ken Lane, Mike Kline and Bret Durossette. All four say they want to see Denham to continue representing the 10th Congressional District.

Mayor Vierra mentioned Denham's leadership on water issues as one reason for the endorsement.

"Jeff Denham has a history of commitment to this community," said Viera. "With the unique water issues in the district, it is important to have someone who can stand up for our needs in the area. I rest easy knowing the city of Ceres is represented in Washington by Congressman Denham."

The endorsements from the city of Ceres is just the latest in a long list of endorsements from local community leaders. Last week alone Rep. Jeff Denham announced strong endorsements from the cities of Turlock and Newman as well as the Stanislaus Deputy Sheriffs Association.

Denham is being challenged in the Nov. 8 election by Turlock beekeeper Michael Eggman.
