The Hughson Chamber of Commerce is planning to get their city into the Christmas spirit with a Hughson Christmas Festival and Parade set for noon to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The festival will be held on Hughson Avenue and include entertainment and gift shopping.

The parade will include Santa, as well as entries from schools, clubs, local churches, businesses and individuals.
Those interested in participating as a vendor or in the parade should call the Hughson Chamber office at 450-6254.

The Hughson event is scheduled a week before the annual traditional Ceres Christmas Festival set for Saturday, Dec. 7 at Smynra Park. The city event is a precursor to the opening of Christmas Tree Lane.

The 26th annual Ceres Christmas Festival will formally open the 52nd season of Christmas Tree Lane as a Ceres tradition. The first Christmas Tree Lane opened December 1961 on Henry Avenue and Vaughn Street. Fifty-two years later it's still going strong.

The city event begins at 5:30 p.m.
