Recipe swaps, crafts at two libraries

The Ceres and Keyes libraries have a number of useful and fun activities during the month of November.

Those in need of the perfect holiday baking recipe or seasonal craft should check out the library.

The Ceres Library is hosting a recipe exchange event at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 and cupcake decorating demonstration led by Anita Davis of Sharity's Sweets of Ceres. Participants are asked to bring copies of their favorite recipe and share a story about how it came to be their favorite.

A Pine Cone Turkey Craft making session will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. Children will be able to let their creativity take over when they use pine cones and feathers to make beautiful turkey decorations.
Legos take over the library on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3:30 p.m. Children will get a chance to build Lego displays for the library! Lego play helps children develop fine motor skills. This event is for ages 4-12 and children under age four must have must have direct adult supervision.

To finish off a month of fun at the Ceres Library, families can attend the Family Story and Craft event on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 3:30 p.m. Families may enjoy a Chinese folktale and learn how to create a tangram animal puzzle.

At the Keyes library, a recipe exchange will run from Nov. 4-27. Participants may pick up November's "Recipe of the Month" and enter their favorite recipe for a chance to have it featured in December.

Children may let their creativity take over by making a cute pumpkin decoration for their Thanksgiving table on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m.

Those on a budget for the holidays will not want to miss the library's coupon trading event set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Participating coupon traders are asked to bring at least five unwanted coupons to trade for coupons they can use.

The Keyes Library will host Teen Wii Games Day on Thursday, Nov. 27 at 12:30 p.m. Teens may practice strategy and teamwork while playing fun games with friends.
