Rotarians honor Danna Vargas as Student of the Month

The Rotary Club of Ceres honored Ceres High School student Danna Vargas as its "Student of the Month" at its Oct. 2 meeting.

Danna is currently involved in several clubs on campus including Historia Hispanica Sociedad, Hispanic Youth Leadership Council, Interact Club, and National Honor Society. She has demonstrated success in the classroom by maintaining a 3.0 GPA, is recognized throughout the school campus as a leader amongst her peers, and as a varsity athlete on the track and field team.

In addition to her ability to lead her peers, Danna has volunteered countless hours at community service events including elementary school festivals and reading to elementary school students. She aspires to join the Air Force and eventually have a career with the FBI.

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.
