Services will still be offered
HFRC
The Hughson Family Resource Center will now be run by the Sierra Vista Child and Family Services which has been helping abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children and families in crisis in Californias Central Valley since 1972.

The Hughson Family Resource Center has dissolved the Hughson Family Resource Center and turned the assets, grants and programs over to Sierra Vista Child and Family Services in order to continue to provide services to the southeast communities of Stanislaus County.

Since 2005 the Hughson Family Resource Center and Sierra Vista Child and Family Services have partnered in meeting the needs of the children and families of the southeast county communities. Since that time SVCFS has acted as the fiscal sponsor, human resource management, and has held the major contracts for the agency.

"The HFRC will continue to exist under the same name and keep the same programs, and SVCFS will provide the HFRC the experienced leadership and infrastructure necessary to meet the continuing needs of the families and the children we serve," said Cindy Morphy, former board chair of the Hughson center. "This was a difficult decision for the Board, but we firmly believe that this move was the right decision to make. Sierra Vista has the resources and over 40 years of history of providing quality programs to the communities they serve and they have the ability to extend our reach further into the southeast communities of Stanislaus County and form networks that will improve the overall health and wellness of those communities."

The former HFRC board will now be an advisory board for the Resource Center and will continue to work with Sierra Vista to determine the needs of the children and families in the communities they serve. In addition, Sierra Vista announced that George Carr, a former board member from the Hughson center, has joined the SVCFS board of directors.

"Sierra Vista Child and Family Services is committed to maintaining the HFRC reputation for excellence in services and we are excited and proud to be taking in this outstanding Resource Center," said Judy Kindle, executive director of Sierra Vista Child and Family Services. "I grew up in Hughson and will always have a special affinity for the communities served by the Hughson Family Resource Center and look forward to expanding the outreach of the Center and supporting and strengthening the community outreach they have already developed."

Sierra Vista Child and Family Services has been helping abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children and families in crisis in California's Central Valley since 1972 through a series of integrated programs that include mental health services, early childhood services, special education, therapeutic residential treatment, adoption, foster care, clinical and family support in homes and schools, perinatal substance abuse treatment and community counseling.
