A funeral service was held at the Colonial Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Adelyne C. Olson Lee, 88, of Modesto. She died Tuesday, July 26, 2005.

Burial was at Acacia Memorial Park.

Born Oct. 23, 1916, Mrs. Lee was a native of Lily, S.D., and had lived in Modesto since 1930. She was a teacher for 20 years, at Keyes Elementary and Hughson Elementary schools. Also, she and her husband, Lee, operated Lee's TV for 30 years. Mrs. Lee was a member of the Carousel and Ballroom dance clubs, and had held the post of president and other offices in each club. She was a civilian employee for the military during World War II, transporting German prisoners in 21/2-ton supply trucks at Camp Roberts, near Paso Robles.

An active student of politics, Adelyne once ran for county supervisor of her district.

She leaves behind her husband of 67 years, Jack A. Lee of Modesto; her son, Charles Laurence Lee of Southern California; her sister, Lilliana Braico of Carmel; and four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two children, and two brothers and a sister.
