Arleen Warn

January 2, 1928 – March 11, 2023

Arleen was born in Alameda to Lorin and Stella Buck. In 1938 her family moved to Turlock where she grew up on a dairy. She graduated from Turlock High School and went on to MJC where she met Duryea. They were married in July of 1946.

Together they enjoyed 72 years of marriage before Duryea‘s passing in 2018.

Arleen was a loving mom who was also loved by her family and friends. Most of all she loved her eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild due this August.

After raising her three boys, Arleen worked at Paul‘s Rexall Drugs in Ceres, and in the Ceres School District as a secretary to the principal at Caswell School, Walter White Jr. High School and Mae Hensley Jr. High School.

In retirement she and Duryea spent time motor homing from coast to coast. The coast was her favorite.

She also spent time as a volunteer for L.A.R.C., Memorial Hospital in the Gift Shop and was a long time member of the Persephone Guild of Ceres.

She made award winning apple pies & loved to cook & bake. She never met a stranger & loved to talk to people wherever she went. She also loved to wear hats, was a seamstress & made many quilts with the local quilters club.

Arleen is survived by two sons, Steven D.Warn (Dianne), and Jeff L. Warn (Robin).

She was preceded in death by son Richard N. Warn and brother Todd Buck.

Thank you to Valley Comfort and staff for all their help and support.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18 at Lakewood Funeral Home-Riverside Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Reception following at Lakewood.

Donations may be made in her name to Parkinson‘s Foundation @ Parkinson.org
