Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements for Betty Jean Surrett Roberts, 70, of Ceres. She died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005 at Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson.
Born Nov. 23, 1935, Mrs. Roberts was a native of Finley, Okla., and lived in Ceres for 12 years. She was a caregiver for five years with Casa de Modesto. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed cooking and reading.
She leaves behind five children, Patricia Forbes of Modesto, Janice Casaletta of Kingsburg, Donna Hientz of Redding, Karen Behrens of Salida and Teresa Camp of Riverbank; two sisters, Joyce Abel of Graham, Wash., and Helen Graham of Antlers, Okla.; and 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Hawkins.
