Lawncrest Chapel in Redding was in charge of private services for Chesley Turner, 76, of Redding. He died Dec. 10, 2005 at his home.

Born May 29, 1929, Mr. Turner was a native of Claremore, Okla., and lived in Redding for a few years. He previously lived in Modesto for 45 years. Mr. Turner was a heavy equipment operator.

He leaves behind four children, Terry Turner and Linda Grigsby, both of Redding, Jerry Turner of Oklahoma and Sheila Hubbard of Modesto; five brothers, Gordon Horner of Washington, Lonnie Horner of Keyes, Larry Horner and Carl Horner, both of Turlock, and Bill Horner of Hughson; three sisters, Ruby Hudson and Irene Hibdon, both of Washington, and Phyllis Mitchell of Keyes; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
