A memorial service was held Thursday at the Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church for Daniel Dewey Johns, 70, of Modesto. He died Feb. 14, 2010 at home after a lengthy illness.
Born May 18, 1939, Mr. Johns was a member of the Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church and worked for MBA Academy in Watsonville, the Milo Academy in Oregon, and Thunderbid Academy in Arizona.
He leaves behind his wife, Jackie Johns of Modesto; three sons, Kevin Johns, Kenneth Johns and Keith Johns; two brothers, Orvil Johns of Portland, Ore., James Johns of Phoenix, Ariz.; his sister, Barbara of Porterville; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
