A memorial service was held Tuesday at Hughson Baptist Church for Dee Jay Franklin, 81, of Hughson. He died July 15, 2012 in Hughson.
The Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs was in charge of arrangements.
Born on Oct. 2, 1930 to John and Thelma Franklin, in Pettigrew, Ark., Dee enjoyed raising rabbits and volunteering for Meals on Wheels, where he served his community for 17 years.
He leaves behind his mother, Thelma Franklin of Hughson; his son, Larry and daughter-in-law, Janet Reynolds, of Rogers, Ark.; his brother, Lawrence Franklin of West Virginia; and two grandchildren, Larry V. Reynolds and Brookelynn Reynolds, both of Ark. He was preceded in death by father John N. Franklin and siblings John H. Franklin and Flora Iva Franklin.
