A funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the McHenry Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Delores Mecham Stephenson, 69, of Ceres. She died of natural causes on Friday, Aug. 27, 2004 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Columbia Public Cemetery in Columbia.
Born Oct. 1, 1934, Mrs. Stephenson was a native of Gratton, N.D., and lived in Ceres for 30 years. She was a homemaker for 47 years. She loved her family.
She leaves behind her husband, Alvin Stephenson of Ceres; six children, Cindy Scrip of Ogden, Utah, Karen Stephenson of Texas, Chris Schulz of Sparks, Nev., Ben Stephenson of Chowchilla, Opal LaRose of Marshall, Mo., and Diane Chisum of Modesto; and 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Stephenson.
