Edna E. West, 95, of Ceres, died Wednesday April 16, 2014 at her home.

Edna was born Sept. 7, 1918 to Harrison and Nellie Thompson. She was a graduate of Ceres High School in 1936 and Lux College in San Francisco in 1940. Edna was married to the late Paul G. West in 1941.

Edna resided in the Modesto and Ceres area her entire life. She was a bookkeeper and accountant for over 30 years for her brother, L.R. Thompson.

In her later years she volunteered for the Salvation Army food program here in Ceres. Edna volunteered with the food program for 20 years.

Edna loved camping, and spending time in the mountains and at the ocean.

She is survived by her children, William West and spouse Jill, Alan West and his wife Betty, and Johanna Morrison and her husband Victor. Edna was blessed with nine grandchildren, 14 great-grrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by husband Paul, son Gerald and four brothers and three sisters.

A viewing will be held on Thursday April 24 between the hours of 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Lakewood Memorial Chapel. There will be a graveside service for Edna at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson.
