A graveside service was held at Lakewood Memorial Park for Edward Sayad, 76, of Hughson. He died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center.
A memorial service was also held at United Methodist Church.
Lakewood Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Born July 2, 1929, Mr. Sayad was a native of Chicago, and had lived in Hughson for 66 years. He was a retired deputy sheriff for Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Sayad was a member of Retired Employees of Stanislaus County, and enjoyed traveling and sports.
He leaves behind his wife, Billie Sayad of Hughson; three children, Thomas Sayad of Ceres and Edward Sayad and Julie Sayad, both of Turlock; two sisters, Christine Boggeri and Virginia Pennington, both of Hughson; and eight grandchildren.
