Effie Cox

Services were held at Ceres Memorial Park for Effie Belle Cox, 100, of St. Peters, Mo. The former Keyes resident died on Aug. 15, 2009.

Born March 20, 1909 near Big Piney, Mo., Effie was the fourth of 10 children of Edward and Nellie Dye. Mrs. Cox lived in Keyes for 40 years before moving back to Missouri. She had been a member of the Baptist Church in Keyes.

She leaves behind two sisters, Carrie Gaede and Virginia McCune, both of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Thomas W. Cox, who died in January 1970.
