A funeral was held Friday at the Ceres Chapel of Franklin & Downs for Elsie Mae Wilhite Turner, 90, of Ceres. She died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 at her home.

Private burial was at Ceres Memorial Park.

Born May 16, 1915, Mrs. Turner was a native of Patterson and lived in rural Ceres all of her adult life. She was a homemaker and a charter and lifetime member of the Persephone Guild. Mrs. Turner enjoyed sewing and painting. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, and served as church treasurer for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Turner leaves behind her husband, Elton Turner of Ceres; three children, Arlene Intorf of Sonora, Dr. Alberta Freitas of San Francisco and Marshall Turner of Fresno; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
