Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday with a service at 7 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church in Ceres, 3315 Central Ave., Ceres, for Ewin Ross Sansom, 86, of Modesto. He died July 23, 2011.
Burial will be at 9 a.m. on Friday at Ceres Memorial Park under the direction of Franklin & Downs Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 2, 1925 in Mountain View, Ark., Ewin lived in the Riverside and Ontario, area until he moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1962. Mr. Sansom then moved to the Modesto area where he lived until his death. Ewin was an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church International for over 50 years.
He leaves behind his son, Rev. Leonard Sansom of Bakersfield (formerly of Ceres); . two grandchildren, Rev. Michael Hanks and Rev. Delmon Sansom; and four great-grandchildren, Miquel Hanks, Joshua Hanks, Shea Sansom and Reannah Sansom. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen Sansom, two sisters and two brothers.
